Addie and the hard to pronounce fish

The other night, we sat down to a nutritious meal of fish and vegetables.  I try to have fish a couple of times a week.  The girls are used to salmon, but I thought I would try a different fish fare.  So we had tilapia.

Addie is my four year old and she is very sincere.  And very expressive.  And extremely funny.  Kind of ditzy-funny.  Anyways, you never know what is going to come out of her mouth.

So we had just sat down and she began to eat.

Addie:  Mmm, Mommy, this fish is good!

Me:  Thank you, I’m glad you like it.

Addie:  This isn’t the pink fish, what kind of fish is this?

Me:  It’s called tilapia.

Addie:  Well, this tipoppia is good!

Me:  It’s til-a-pi-a.

Addie:  Tillallipa.

Me:  No, say it with me:  Till-ah-pee-a.

Addie:  Till-ah-lill-i-pa.

Me:  (laughing by this point) Try again:  Till-ah-pee-a.

Addie:  Till-ah-pipp-a.

Me:  Nevermind.

She’s so funny.

You are too funny! I can just see Addie now, 50 years from now as funny, ditzy Minnie-Pearl kind of woman wearing a straw hat with a price tag hanging from it telling stories about HER mamma feeding her this wierd talla-peea fish when she was a kid and this is the reason she grew up to be a funny ditzy woman wearing a hat with the price tag still on it!. I want that picture of her, can you email it to me?
